Bill Keenan, Beaver Run, Breckenridge
We own a 2-bedroom unit (4104) at Beaver Run and visited just last weekend. It was our first visit since having our unit remodeled and I'm writing to say how pleased we are with the end result. What a difference! it is worth every cent. (We did a complete remodel of the kitchen, both bathrooms, the dressing room, the entry way, and the living room fireplace wall). End result aside, I also thought you should know how smoothly the process went, thanks to Julie Magliocchetti and Paul Duxbury.
We starting planning the remodel several years ago, but were delayed by the conference center purchase, which we fully supported. I have to say I was not looking forward to the remodeling based on our interactions with the maintenance staff several years ago. It was difficult to get information from them and they rarely returned our calls and emails. I imagine that's because they keep very busy with the day-to-day maintenance problems that crop up. However, we began questioning the wisdom of relying on them for such an extensive project, especially since we would be off-site.
Fortunately, during our visit last summer we spoke with Julie and she told us that she had taken on the task of overseeing remodels. She suggested we meet with her and Paul to discuss our concerns. In a two-hour meeting, they answered every question we had, made recommendations, identified materials sources, and proposed a timeline. We were so comfortable with them that, as soon as we reviewed the contract, we gave them the go-ahead.
We spent one day looking at tile, stone, and other materials. Julie followed up on ordering things, and suggested appropriate sources for
fixtures and other items. She even made a trip to Denver to pick out granite for us. They started the remodel on Sept 1st and finished in early October. Julie regularly sent emails and photos to keep us up to speed and ironed out minor problems. Any concerns we had were addressed immediately. Paul did his part by executing the remodel just as promised-on time and without any cost overruns.
I have done a fair amount of remodeling myself, so I can easily spot sloppy work and whether corners have been cut. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so the highest compliment I can pay a contractor is to acknowledge that he did the job as if it were his own house. The work of Paul and his crew stood up to my critical eye, and I couldn't have asked for a better outcome.
Forgive me if I've been a bit long-winded, but I think it's just as important to praise a job well done as it is to complain when something is not done right. (In fact, I do have an unrelated complaint that I will air in the near future). Julie and Paul obviously work well together, are personable and, above all, are responsible and efficient. Whoever thought of pairing them up to handle BR remodels should be commended. It's professionals like them that make ownership at BR a pleasure.
Thanks for listening.
Cordially, Bill Keenan
